Bus Uncle

Everybody has been raving about 'Bus Uncle' for the past week. This all happened on a bus with a young man tapping the shoulders of a middle-aged man due to the fact that he was speaking too loudly on his cell phone. 'Bus Uncle' gets furious and starts cursing the young man endlessly. A boy riding on the bus captures the whole incident on his cell phone. The six-minute clip surfaces on the internet with various versions to it. These versions included "Infernal Affairs" adaptation, Sammi Cheng's "煞科" cartoon versions, movie versions with Chinese and English subtitles, and many more.

This incident was so huge that a Taiwan variety show has made a parody out of it.

Experts explained that the reason people are so interested in this is because the clip was dramatic, and you can see it happening in reality. Also, the middle-aged man's abnormal actions indicate that he is suffering from an illness. More like an anger problem. It doesn't take much to push the wrong buttons to trigger his anger.

People are going crazy over the clip. Hong Kong TV shows are using it. Radio stations are reenacting it. TVB is even using it as a method to promote its to-be-broadcasted series "Pain of Being a Man", showing that "You have stress, I have stress too!" The men in the series have many sources of stress, which remain unresolved, but they deal with the stress using various methods.

I first viewed the clip on Sammul Chan's blog (http://hk.myblog.yahoo.com/sammul-blog) on the first of June. I just think that some people don't have manners and don't care about other people around them. 'Bus Uncle' was very rude; however, on the other hand, the young man didn't handle the situation that well either. 'Bus Uncle' made the young man apologize for something he started in the first place. The young man didn't emphasize that the problem started off by 'Bus Uncle' speaking too loudly on the phone. 'Bus Uncle' should be apologizing and the young man as well. The two quotes from "Uncle Bus", "你有壓力, 我有壓力!" (You have stress, I have stress too!) and "未解決!" (It's not over!), are the most-used quotations used in HK right now.
